Denise Davis Ed.D.  brings more than thirty-five years of educational and administrative experience to her current role as an education consultant for school districts and their partners in Texas public schools and post-secondary institutions that work with students under-represented in higher education. Dr. Davis has taught in both elementary and secondary schools, served as assistant principal and dean of instruction at the secondary level and, for more than a decade, owned and operated her own private school.  Prior to joining Educate Texas, she worked as the Early College High School Project Director at the University of North Texas. In this capacity, she was central to the design and formation of early college high school sites in DFW, providing technical assistance to implementation teams and professional development to key personnel.  Dr. Davis holds a bachelor’s degree of science in elementary education from Texas A&M Commerce, a master’s in educational administration from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley – formally The University of Texas Brownsville, and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education from the University of North Texas. Most recently, Denise has been supporting collaboratives in rural school districts to expand students’ postsecondary opportunities.
